Extinguishing burnout in 2020 – Techniques for Prevention & Recovery

We’re partnering with The Heart & Mind Foundation to host an event in London about extinguishing burnout in 2020. Read below to find out more.

We’re pleased to announce that on 18th January 2020, The Place Retreats will be hosting an event about extinguishing stress, burnout and anxiety from our everyday lives.

Held at MoreYoga’s Soho studio, we’ll be exploring the origins of these uncomfortable feelings and what we can do in 2020 to proactively become a better, calmer and more confident person, a person with a stronger connection to the heart and mind.

Burnout is a big concern in today’s over-connected, over-stimulated world. ‘A common trait that we see in Bali and London is that executives and mid-level managers feel that, whatever they do, it is not good enough,’ explains Jean-Claude Chalmet, Founder and leading Psychotherapist at The Place Retreat, who will be speaking at the event.

‘Executives feel that they cannot achieve their full potential, that they are disconnected from themselves, and that they’re devoid of any kind of nurturing that they need.’

Because of how connected we are, many people find themselves overwhelmed and paralysed by fear. Unfortunately, these negative feelings make for an unproductive work environment, an unhappy home life and a strong desire to escape.

But it doesn’t have to be this way…

Event agenda

Life isn’t a race to the finish line, it’s a journey to be savoured. Our London event will help you find a more positive, balanced path that helps you manage your life in a sustainable way over the long term. Burnout shouldn’t be an option.

A talk from Jean-Claude Chalmet

At this event, listen to Jean-Claude Chalmet speak about the nature of fear, including its origins and the effect it has on our wellbeing. He’ll be providing practical tools to help you move from a place of fear to a place of love for life.

A session of Kundalini Yoga and meditation

After Jean-Claude’s talk we’ll run a session of Kundalini Yoga and meditation, with Marta Antero , which is designed to calm the nervous system, alleviate the physical symptoms of fear and create a stronger connection between the heart and the mind.

Gong Bath led by Marta Antero

This will be followed by a Gong Bath led by Marta Antero, a Spanish-born Kundalini yoga teacher specialising in yoga for addictions, stress and anxiety.

Finish with a Q&A

We’ll then finish with a Q&A from the audience (that’s you!).
